people needdddd to wear headphones in public because while on an otherwise very lovely walk in the park today i saw a guy sitting under a tree watching a porn parody of the star wars prequels

if nothing else trying to tune out the sounds of anakin and padme going to town as i contemplate the babbling brook gave me a brief but vivid window into what it’s like to be obi wan kenobi

i hope that in 2025 u get to take more walks, read more books, connect with more people whom u love and who love u, achieve ur goals (even if ur goals are having no goals and just living in the moment), exercise fun hobbies, move from a place of self-direction, and weave together a beguiling assortment of beautiful little moments. remember that no feeling lasts forever. love u

Make the most of the next two months

  • Get all your vaccines
  • Travel while we have a functioning DOT
  • Read and buy books on feminism, anti-racism, pro-lgbt
  • Attend drag shows
  • Don’t skip any of your classes
  • Read and buy history books
  • Find your out-of-state networks
  • Learn to carry cash
  • Get birth control solutions
  • Support the Biden/Harris administration
  • Postpone large purchases and save money
  • Be careful of what you say online, like un-ambiguous attacks against the incoming administration, especially in spaces that contain your full name or personal information

Feel free to add on.

wow! as a broke college kid, i wish there was a way to access books and movies as well as scientific articles that the new administration isn’t necessarily a fan of. man. If only there was a free and trusted vpn ( up to 10 gigs of downloadable data) to use in conjunction with an anonymizing router (also free up to 10 gigs) to safely, er, permanently borrow media in an untraceable way as well as share files. Man, what’s that browser that keeps your online activity anonymous? I’m awfully attached to firefox, personally. If only i had a browser extension that would throw a smoke screen over my browsing data while blocking ads at the same time.

what was i talking about? hmm. weird.

My job now is to outlive that man.

I will outlive him. I will be here when he is gone. I will be here when he has been erased. I will be here, telling stories, loving my wife, protecting my friends and family, cherishing joy and kindness and diversity. I will be here. He will not. It is only a matter of time.

the most depressing aspect of watching the trump rally call puerto rico a garbage island is how puerto ricans are not allowed to vote in the presidential election. over 3 million us citizens with a voice they’re not allowed to use. my heart aches for my family there and the fact that i can only vote because i live here and not there.

i carry the spirit of 3+ million boricuas who cannot vote for president as i cast my ballot, i carry the spirit of my grandfather who was drafted for the vietnam war against his will as i cast my ballot, i carry the spirit of my mother who cast her first vote at the age of 40 in 1996 as i cast my ballot, i even carry the spirit of my shithead brother who LITERALLY SERVED IN THE US MILITARY AND YET CANNOT VOTE as i cast my ballot. if the people of “garbage island.” puerto rico could vote they’d vote in droves. i feel their anger, their frustration, their pain and hope there is a day puerto rico receives the respect it deserves.

Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin islands, and the other territories deserve to be states!

or MAYBE they deserve the right to vote for the us presidential elections whether they’re a state or not

mi gente!! tonight is also election night in puerto rico. while they may not be able to vote for president, they are not meek or powerless either. juan dalmau ramírez is running for governor and will tackle two of the island’s largest issues: animal welfare (stray dogs aka “satos” run rapmant on puerto rico) and fighting the tax advantages rich people who come to the island are granted among other things. watch the amount of people ready to vote.

and if you ARE puerto rican on the island, a votar 🙌🏽

remember puerto rico is treated unfairly, but they do have power.
